What we collect
We keep data collection deliberately small.
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, and your first name if you provide it.
When you unlock a gated report (a whitepaper), we collect your name, work email, company, and role, so that we know who is reading our research. With each submission we also record the IP address and browser user-agent of the request, to prevent abuse.
When you simply read the site, we and our hosting collect standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) and use privacy-respecting analytics to understand readership in aggregate. We do not build advertising profiles.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your newsletter email to send you the newsletter you asked for. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We use the data from a gated report to deliver the report, to understand our professional readership, and to qualify interest in the related products of PromptRanks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and serving our readers. We will not add you to a marketing mailing list without your separate, explicit consent.
We use technical and analytics data to operate, secure, and improve the publication. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, well-understood site.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data with the service providers that run Imprompted, only as needed to operate it: our publishing platform (Ghost), our email sending provider (Resend), and our inbound mail forwarding (ImprovMX). Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.
We may share data from gated reports with PromptRanks, our parent brand, for the purposes described above. We may disclose data if required by law.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers' standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe. We keep gated-report data for as long as needed for the purposes above, and then delete or anonymise it. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the one-click link in every email. To exercise any right, email privacy@imprompted.news. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: a session cookie for logged-in members, a cookie that remembers you have unlocked a whitepaper so you do not have to fill the form again, and privacy-respecting analytics. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for material changes, give notice on the site.
